Champions of Peace Recommendations Due to Raymond/Alec

For more than a century, Rotary has been committed to building bridges between people and promoting peace in communities the world over. In keeping with our commitment to peace understanding, Rotary will honor a mix of six Rotarians and Rotary Peace Fellow Alumni as Rotary People of Action: Champions of Peace during Rotary Day at the United Nations on Saturday 11 November 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

All district governors-elect, in consultation with their current district governor have the opportunity to nominate one Rotarian candidate and one peace fellow alumni that meet the recognition criteria. Here are the criteria:

  1. Current Rotary members or peace fellow alumni
  2. Nominees must be available to travel, at no cost to Rotary, to Rotary Day at the United Nations on Saturday 11 November 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland
  3. An exemplary record around service and peace building initiatives/projects
  4. Contributing to cultures of peace or are actively transforming conflict in their communities
  5. Involved with projects that are currently active or concluded no earlier than June 2016
  6. Individuals previously honored as "Women of Action," "Rotary's Global Women of Action," "White House Champions of Change."Rotary's"Rotary's Responsible Business Award" are not eligible for this recognition.
