District Newsletter Update
By Jackie Cuthbert The newsletter editor (me) is traveling to Melbourne later this week, as are many of our District Leaders and friends. We're planning to have the June newsletter in your hands soon after my return (probable publication date is June 12) but wanted to share a few stories now to give you extra time to check some things off your Rotary To Do list. For example, you might want to be part of Sandy Springs' pickleball tournament - or you might need some time to be sure all your club's Interact information is up to date. You might even want to register for next year's District Conference. If you have articles you'd like to share for June, please send to cuthbert@mindspring.com by June 9. Your stories can help other imagine what Rotary can be. So who do you think took the koala picture?

Interact Update
By Becky Stone With July 1 rapidly approaching, all Rotary clubs sponsoring one or more Interact Clubs MUST update the contact information of the Interact club adviser annually by June 30 in My Rotary to maintain the Interact club’s active status. Best Practice Tip: Enter the name of your Interact or Youth Services Director for the upcoming Rotary year (particularly if you do not know who the teacher sponsor will be in the Fall). [more] |

Club News
By Zac Boswell The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs is hosting a Pickleball fundraiser on June 17 at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center near the intersection of Roswell Road and Abernathy. A portion of the proceeds will go to one of our community partners, Vision To Learn. Vision To Learn is a not-for-profit organization that provides free eye exams and glasses to children in low-income communities across the United States. This year, the club partnered with Vision to Learn, and our club donated more than 800 pair of eyeglasses to elementary and middle school students in Sandy Springs. Our club is now registering players for the Pickleball Madness Tournament. All skill levels are accepted. If you've never played Pickleball before you can pick it up in mere minutes - I played just one time a few weeks ago for an hour and I'm ready to play! Our tournament will be played by doubles using a round robin format. You'll be able to play in about three matches. You don't need a partner to play as we'll pair you with someone of similar skill. If you don't have a paddle, one will be provided. Register by going to www.rotarypickleball.com [more] |
