ROTARY’S PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Rotary District 6900 and its clubs (individually or collectively, "Rotary") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy ("Policy"). Maintaining protection of the data entrusted to our care by our constituents is of the utmost importance to Rotary.

This Policy describes the types of data we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our Websites (our "Websites"), join our clubs, use our services, or participate in our programs. It also describes our policies and practices for collecting, using, protecting, and disclosing that data.

This Policy applies to personal data we collect:

  • On our Websites
  • Through our Rotary clubs when you become a member
  • When you sign up for and/or attend any events that we host
  • When you interact with us in another way, for example, contacting us with an inquiry

This Policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy section), so please check the Policy periodically for the most current version.

Data We Collect About You and How We Collect It

We collect several types of personal data, including:

  • Data by which you may be personally identified, including your name, postal address, email address, or telephone number ("personal data") and/or
  • Data about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Websites, and usage details

We collect data from:

  • Users of our Websites
  • Members of Rotary and Rotaract clubs
  • Donors to The Rotary Foundation, the Georgia Rotary Student Program Foundation and certain Rotary Club foundations
  • People who attend Rotary events
  • People who participate in Rotary's programs

We collect this data:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us
  • Automatically, as you navigate through the Websites (data collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies and other tracking technologies)

  • From clubs, districts, including multi-district organizations, and partners in our global network

Data You Provide to Us

We collect data you provide when you interact with our Websites or when dealing with Rotary or our network offline. That data includes:

  • Personal data that you provide by making an inquiry of Rotary or joining as a member of a Rotary or Rotaract club; this includes data provided when registering through the Websites.
  • Personal data you provide when participating in services available on our Websites.
  • Personal data you provide when posting material on our Websites
  • Personal data you provide when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us
  • Personal data you provide when you report a problem with our Websites
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email, social media posts, and other electronic messages), if you contact us
  • Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes
  • Your registration to attend and/or participate in Rotary events
  • Personal data you provide when making a donation
  • Personal data you provide when submitting applications, for example, for grants, fellowships, or scholarships
  • Biographical or other data you provide to us, for example, if you choose to put your name forth as a candidate for a Rotary office
  • Details of transactions you carry out through our Websites and details of the fulfillment of your orders (you may be required to provide financial personal data before placing an order through our Websites)

Features that are developed in the future may result in the collection of additional new personal data.

You also may provide data to be published or displayed (hereinafter, "posted") on public areas of the Websites or transmitted to other users of the Websites or third parties (collectively, "User Content"). Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Personal Data

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal data you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your data:

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Data

You may access and correct your data using the following methods:

  • When you are a registered user on this Websites, sign in to our Websites and visit your account profile page.
  • Email webmaster@rotary6900.org to request access to, correct, or delete any personal data that you have provided to us.

We may choose not to accommodate a request to change or delete data if we believe the change or deletion would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the data to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Content from the Websites, copies of your User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Websites users. Proper access and use of data provided on our Websites, including User Content, is governed by our Terms of Use.

Children Under the Age of 16

Our Websites is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent. No one under age 16 may provide any personal data to or on our Websites. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any personal data on our Websites or on or through any of its features, register on our Websites, make any purchases through our Websites, use any of the interactive or public comment features of our Websites, or provide any personal data about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal data from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that personal data. Data Security

We have implemented technical and operational measures designed to secure your personal data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. When developing new or enhancing existing systems and processes, Rotary implements appropriate data protection throughout its data processing operations. All personal data you provide to us is stored on password-protected databases on our secure servers behind firewalls and we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure that the transmission of sensitive data for payments and contributions is encrypted and appropriately safeguarded. We train our employees on the importance of data security and focus specifically on practices for protecting against unauthorized disclosure of personal data.

The safety and security of your personal data also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Passwords registered with our Websites are encrypted to ensure protection against unauthorized access to your personal data. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out personal data in public areas of our Websites. The personal data you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of our Websites.

Unfortunately, the transmission of personal data via the internet is not completely secure. By continuing to use our Websites, maintain your membership in our clubs, use our services, or participate in our programs, you agree to any changes in the Policy.
