Welcome to the Sandy Springs Rotary Club
Welcome Sandy Springs Rotarians to the new Rotary year. It will be hard to top last year but we'll do it with your help & support. Kudos to past president Nancy Schroeder and PDG Jim Squire for your service and helping the club receive many awards at the District Celebration including our second "Club of the Decade" designation.
Some changes are being made in our club's meeting program to make it more varied & interesting. We will be adding the Sandy Springs Business Spotlight, a third raffle drawing, and wine one meeting a month. Members are now asked to come a little earlier as lunch will begin at noon with the program to start promptly at 12:15. Along with our traditional club events & projects we'll have a couple more service projects/media events, membership events (Rotary Pizza Night at Pontoon) and different Family of Rotary social events. I look forward to engaging with you to make it a exciting year.
Visitors are welcome to experience the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs' hospitality and energy. Meetings are typically the 1st, 2nd & 4th Mondays. Chaitin Maycott & the Power of Marketing
Monday, October 26th, Chaitin Maycott the Founder and CEO of Results Magnet will be addressing the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs.
Mr. Maycott will be enlightening us all on the power of marketing in 2020, giving all sides of the coin, historical marketing insights, and revealing the full potential of this important business function when utilized effectively.
Chaitin Maycott began building websites in high school after being inspired by two particularly notable individuals. First by his father who'd been involved in technology for the majority of his life and Chaitin's favorite high school teacher, Mr. Johnson, who taught web design while keeping the class laughing through engaging coursework.
After high school, Chaitin attended Kennesaw State University where he honed his digital skills with a degree in communication and marketing. After college, sales and finance led him to work at an executive consulting firm that focused on fortune 500 CEO and COO driven digital transformation initiatives from the top down.
After excelling there, he took the jump of starting his very own digital advertising agency, which at the age of 26, he has scaled to an office in Dunwoody, numerous team members, international clientele, and annually recurring sales in the six figures. His firm named Results Magnet specializes in business to consumer, service-based marketing all done specifically online through digital advertising.

Connie Durham's "Communication Transformation System" Explained
On Monday October 5, 2020, Connie Durham captivated the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs by sharing elements of her “Communication Transformation System”. One of the tools she uses to help others learn to communicate with confidence is the acronym, D.I.S.C.
The DISC system centers on four different personality traits which are Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C). Under each trait is a series of descriptive words designed to help a person recognize strengths and weaknesses within a group or team of people. Knowing how to use the DISC system can help determine a course of action when dealing with problems as with a leadership team. It helps by taking the various aspects of each type into account when solving problems or assigning jobs.
