President John's Message

As this Rotary year comes to a close, I am grateful to have been part of another Roswell Rotary banner year.  I shared in January a lot of the things we accomplished in the first half of the year.  But we didn’t stop!  The last six months have been packed with more service to our community and our youth, all the while having fun doing it.  Just since January we have accomplished -

 •   Teen Talks - completed 3-phase Behavioral Health impact project started President Terry’s year with Parenting Tip videos and dedication of the Roswell Rotary Family Waiting Room at Wellstar North Fulton

•   Panama Global Grant - continued second grant construction to bring fresh water to four villages

•   End Human Trafficking - hosted a daylong training session for first responders in North Fulton & Forsyth

•   Hump Day - gathered for monthly fellowship during the winter

•   Leadership 20/20 - hosted 60 Roswell High students for a great day of leadership training

•   Unity Garden - RR After Hours began monthly workdays which will continue into next year

•   Skipper Hoke Athletic Leadership Awards - honored football players from our three local high schools on Woodstock Road for their team leadership

•   Read Across America - fanned out to our local elementary schools to read to kindergarteners

•   Blood Drives - hosted two more quarterly blood drives

•   Roswell Rotary Relays - hosted the 26th annual signature track and field event

•   Charity Distribution - gave over $150,000 to our local charities and international project partners from proceeds of our Golf & Tennis Tournaments

•   Laws of Life - sponsored this annual essay contest in our local schools

•   Sweep the Hooch - joined with others to help clean the banks of the Chattahoochee

•   High School Scholarships - awarded four college scholarships to deserving Roswell seniors

•   Drake House Cub Scout Pack - organized first Cub Scout pack for kids at Drake House & Village

•   Students and Teachers of the Month - honored both students and teachers of the year from our local schools

•   New Member Social - hosted a get together for new members to interact with our club leadership

•   District Conference - brought home Club of the Year Runner Up

•   Memorial Day Ceremony - continued tradition of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice

Many thanks to all those who made this possible.  Join us this Thursday as we recognize many in this club for their contribution to another great year for Roswell Rotary.  I have been honored and have enjoyed serving you as your president.
