Message from the President: 10.30.25

As we heard Robert Hall share with us at Monday’s meeting, Polio remains endemic in only two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan. But the fight isn’t over. This highly infectious disease can cause paralysis, lifelong disability, or death, mostly in young children. With no cure, vaccination is the only defense. Global eradication is vital to prevent resurgence, protect future generations, and mark one of humanity’s greatest public health achievements.

Rotary International is committed to raising $50 million per year over the next three years, with every dollar to be matched with two additional dollars from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This expanded agreement translates into a total of $450 million to support the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. That’s a 3:1 match for every donation made to Polio Plus!

The PolioPlus Society is a program to promote individual giving to PolioPlus. Members of the Society agree to give at least $100 annually toward polio eradication until polio is stamped out worldwide. And who knew, donations can also be made in your pet’s name!

The first 5,000 PolioPlus Society members get a 6:1 match which includes a 1:1 match from a generous Rotarian in addition to the 3:1 match from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which the latter applies to all donations.

We invite members to donate to PolioPlus by scanning the QR code and selecting an amount that is right for you.

Monday's Meeting: Timo Resch, President & CEO of Porsche Cars North America

Timo Resch is the President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), where he oversees business in the United States, Canada and Porsche Digital, Inc., the manufacturer’s digital subsidiary in the U.S.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, PCNA is the exclusive importer of the Porsche 911; 718 Boxster and Cayman; Macan and Cayenne; Panamera; and Taycan model lines. As President and CEO, Resch oversees the supply and distribution of Porsche vehicles to the retail operations of U.S. dealers through five U.S. ports of entry, sales support, marketing, parts distribution, training and Porsche Classic Factory Restoration Atlanta.

Resch assumed the role of President and CEO of PCNA in November, 2023. He started his career in 1995 as a student with Porsche in Zuffenhausen. After taking on various roles at Porsche AG he moved to Porsche Cars North America where he led the Product Planning and Market Research unit for the North American subsidiary. After that, he held several leadership roles at Audi AG and BMW, where he was responsible for global sales and marketing at BMW Motorrad, among other responsibilities.

Resch holds a Master of Engineering from Berufsakademie Stuttgart

Shepherd Center Movie Night - Secret Life of Pets

RSVP HERE!

November 9, 2025 3:00 pm— 5:00 pm

Join us for a heartwarming evening as we host Movie Night with Shepherd Center patients, featuring The Secret Life of Pets!

Date: November 9

Time: 3:00 - 5:00pm

Location: Shepherd Center Auditorium

We’ll provide the snacks and enjoy time connecting with patients while sharing the joy of this fun, animal-themed film.

This special night ties directly to President Shelley’s signature project supporting Lifeline Animal Project—because what better way to celebrate the love of pets than with a movie that brings their secret lives to the big screen?

Come for the popcorn, stay for the smiles, and help us spread Rotary fellowship with our friends at Shepherd Center.
