By Steve Stanfield Significant parts of our zone, especially in the Caribbean, have really been rocked by last month’s hurricanes. Short term, our district has set up a Disaster Relief account as part of our Charitable Fund to which Rotarians and Clubs can donate. We are also coordinating with al the District Governors across the Zone on a longer term response to the destruction. We will keep you informed as the our response develops. [more] |

Rotary Youth Exchange
By Mike Parks Our first District 6900 class of Rotary Youth Exchange students are all with their exchange families for the 2017/18 school year. We have 10 Georgia students spending a year in high school in nine countries - and several international students in Georgia for their RYE high school year abroad.
Applications for the 2018/2019 school year are open now, and the application deadline is November 1, 2017.

By Claudia Mertl Recently, the world came to Clayton County, when 40 international students gathered at The Beach in Jonesboro, for a fun time that included creating sand sculptures, making floatable cardboard boats, and enjoying plenty of food and fellowship. They were all part of the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP). The Rotary Clubs of Lake Spivey/Clayton County, Henry County and Griffin partnered to host the event. [more] |
