President's Message
Love Me Some Millennials!

FACT: Millennials are defined as people born between 1981 and 1996.

FACT: Millennials make up 35% of today's workforce.

SOON TO BE FACT: Millennials will make up 75% of the workforce by 2030 (only 10 years from now!).

FACT: Millennials are important to your business both as leaders, employees and consumers.

MYTH: Millennials are entitled, lazy, spoiled, self-absorbed and disloyal employees.

Chris Tuff, this week's speaker, shares key insights in successfully working with millennials. I just finished reading his amazing and well written book, "The Millennial Whisperer: The Practical, Profit-Focused Playbook for Working With and Motivating the World's Largest Generation" and I couldn't put it down! It is based on significant research and Chris' personal experiences leading a highly successful team of millennials at 22squared. Chris will challenge what you think you know about working with millennials and share important ways to empower your millennial team members and put them in a position to do their best work.

This may be the Roswell Rotary program that most impacts your business and personal relationships this year. Don't miss it!

President Becky

New Member Spotlight: Kyle Woods

A graduate of the University of Georgia and Emory Law School, Kyle Woods has been practicing law in the Atlanta area for over 30 years. After learning the ropes of his profession at several regional law firms, Kyle launched his own law practice in 1994. Over the next 17 years, he advised and represented clients in commercial, business, real estate, and financial restructuring legal matters, including both trial and transactional work. He has served as outside general counsel to numerous local and regional businesses—in some cases from start up through initial public offering and beyond. In 2010, Kyle was recruited to join the Atlanta office of multinational law firm Greenberg Traurig. During his 8 years at Greenberg Traurig, Kyle represented institutional lenders, private equity firms, and other creditors in workout, loan enforcement, and financial restructuring matters, as well as serving as lead trial attorney representing principal parties in complex commercial bankruptcy cases of national scope before courts ranging from Delaware to Houston.

Kyle recently decided to return to his own law practice and to focus more time and energy on giving back to and being involved in his local community of Roswell, Georgia, where he has resided since 1994. His law practice will be based in Roswell and will focus on serving local and regional businesses, as well as individuals and families. He will provide a broad range of legal representation and counseling services, including, without limitation, business, commercial, and financial matters, as well as estate planning. Kyleand his wife, Ginger, live along the Chattahoochee River near Island Ford, where, among other things, he enjoys kayaking and other outdoor recreational activities. He is excited about joining Roswell Rotary and the opportunities the club offers for fellowship and service .

Advertise In The Directory

Club Directory

As the new Rotary year approaches, it is time to update our club directory before the next edition goes to print. Please make sure your personal information is up to date. You can update this yourself on our club website or stop by and see Darlene at one of our next meetings.

The directory is a great opportunity to advertise your business to our club membership. If you have run an ad in previous years, expect a call from Mickey Deaton asking you to run an ad again this year.

AD PRICING:

  • $250 - 1/3 Page (2.5"h x 3.375"w)
  • $500 - 2/3 Page (5.25"h x 3.375"w)
  • $750 - Full Page (8"h x 3.375"w)

Want More Exposure?

Get higher visibility by having your ad on the inside or back cover. Pricing for these limited and high traffic ad placements is simple, it is double the normal price listed above.

Thank you for advertising in the directory and doing business with fellow Rotarians!

Get A Free Head Shot

Does your headshot look like this?

Now is your chance to get a new one at no cost to you. David Bourne and Michael Gould have offered their services to take new headshots for our members before and after our weekly meetings from May 16 through June 6.

Dress for success and plan to come a few minutes early or stay for a few minutes after our meeting to have them take your new headshot. These will get added to our club website and make their way into the 2019-20 club directory.

Dates for Service Above Self (and a good bit of fun)

Opportunities for your participation:

It's even more fun with your friends and that starts with inviting your friends to a meeting, service project or social event. Bringing a guest presents 2 opportunities for "service." First is the goodwill that comes from introducing a guest to members of our club, to our club projects AND hearing our speakers. The second is growing our Roswell Rotary family.
Please look for opportunities to share Rotary with your friends.
