From the District Governor
By Jim Squire Rotary
Connects the World is the theme selected by Rotary International President Mark
Maloney for the new Rotary year we have just entered. To me, that is a
theme that should resonate personally with all Rotarians. In fact, I view
this as a very personal year, not just because I am so honored to be your District
Governor and am excited about the prospects of what we can do as we Connect
With Rotary in District 6900, but also because the theme emphasizes what
Rotarians do best; reaching out and touching and Connecting the members in our
clubs in fellowship, the citizens in our community in service, the clubs in our
District in collaboration, and the world in compassion.

FREEDOM all about? Alternatives? Choices? Decisions? Options? Opportunities?
Preferences? All synonyms
for our ability to consider what our new Rotary Year will become and accomplish
when we reflect at the end of next June about what we actually achieved in our
Clubs, District, and Internationally in the name of Rotary. [more] |

The Rotary Foundation
By Cheryl Greenway As
we start another new Rotary year, I have to reflect on all the good work that
is done through OUR Rotary Foundation. The legal name may be The Rotary Foundation but it is Our Rotary
Foundation. Why you ask? Because we, the Rotarians, decide on how the
money donated to the Foundation is used. Not a committee and not an executive director and not a board of
directors. Money donated to the
Foundation is only paid out for District Grants, Global Grants, PolioPlus
Grants, Disaster Relief, and Global and Peace Fellowships. [more] |

at your student’s “suitcase” to be sure that they have the things that they
need to make their stay in a dorm a pleasant one. It is very easy to just
recycle everything that your student from last year had, but it is a gift to
your new student to take a look at what you have and throw out a few … [more] |
