FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Service Above Self

Many times during Saturday's work day at our Drake House apartment, I heard people talking about their own homes needing some painting or deep cleaning. Thank you to all who came to help and for a few hours on a Saturday morning lived our motto of Service Above Self. Hearing the story of how this apartment helped a family that was headed to homelessness get back on their feet and the mom is now about to start her residency to become a doctor certainly makes the hard work worthwhile.

THIS WEEK'S SPEAKERS
Charities We Support

Alan Christian will lead a panel discussion on some of the local charities our club has supported physically and financially for years. Kathryn Woerner from The Drake House, Stephanie Christiansen from STAR House and Talaya Parker from HomeStretch will all share with us how Roswell Rotary has made a difference in their mission to serve those in need in our community.

Lobby Under Construction
Use The Side Entrance

The lobby of the activities building is being completely remodeled over the next couple of months. Roswell Rec & Parks is making sure we can still meet during the construction, but we will need to use the side entrance to come and go from our meeting. Access to the first floor bathrooms will be limited and we may have to use the upstairs restrooms. For those who need an ADA restroom, the ones at the pool will also be available. Please be patient as the finished product will be awesome. The project should be completed in October.

Help With Our Fundraiser
Volunteers Needed

Every member of our club has a role to play in our annual fundraiser and we are getting close to the big day. Thanks to all who have helped by sponsoring, donating an auction item or lending your time and talent to help make this a success. If you are interested in helping out the day of, please SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER.

Become A Stand Up For Kids Mentor
Opportunity To Serve

As we learned from the North Fulton Poverty Taskforce there are many homeless and at risk kids in our area. For years our club has partnered with Stand Up For Kids to mentor students that fall into this category at local area high schools. There is an information and training session at Jim Coyle's office on Tuesday, August 13th from 6-8:30pm. If you are interested in becoming a mentor please call Robert Fezza (404-210-5871) or email him at RobertFezza@gmail.com.

Introduce A Friend To Rotary

Bring a non-member with you to Variant Brewing and your first pint is on us. Don't think of this as a time-share sales pitch, but a casual way to introduce the people in your life that say, "what's Rotary?" to our club. This event is perfect for 30-40 year old friends, family, neighbors, co-workers or employees that have a heart for service and you think would be a great addition to our club.
