President's Message Promoting PeaceIt was an honor for me to represent Roswell Rotary during a visit to Bulloch Hall with a French delegation considering locating their peace institute on the grounds of the Rodney Cook, Sr. Peace Park in Atlanta. The delegation has family history with the Roosevelt's and they were fascinated by the tour of Bulloch Hall. This small gesture will go a long way towards promoting peace around the world. Thanks to Bob Hagan and Lee Hollingsworth for helping me host this special event. This Week's Speaker Service Projects Chair, Don HortonDon Horton joined the board this year as our Service Projects Chair. He is also on the board of Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens, and is Chair of the Roswell Arts fund. He a member of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the Kettering Executive Network, and is a Commissioner on the Housing Authority of Fulton County. Don has been married to his spouse, Gayle, for 49 years. He has two adult children and five grandchildren. He owns Horton Financial Strategies, RIA, a Registered Investment Advisory Firm. Don is going to lead us in a bar style trivia game while we hear about volunteer opportunities from our members that lead various service projects. Help With Our Fundraiser Volunteers NeededEvery member of our club has a role to play in our annual fundraiser and we are getting close to the big day. Thanks to all who have helped by sponsoring, donating an auction item or lending your time and talent to help make this a success. Wednesday, August 28 | 6PM - 9:30PM Introduce A Friend To RotaryBring a non-member with you to Variant Brewing and your first pint is on us. Don't think of this as a time-share sales pitch, but a casual way to introduce the people in your life that say, "what's Rotary?" to our club. This event is perfect for 30-40 year old friends, family, neighbors, co-workers or employees that have a heart for service and you think would be a great addition to our club. Wednesday, September 4 | 5PM - 8PM Join Us For Hump DayJoin your fellow Rotarians for a bit of fun mid-week. Bring your significant other or a prospective member. Stop by for a drink or stay for dinner either way, we hope to see you there.
