Music in Common

Music In Common(MIC) is a non-profit organization whose community building programs deepen understanding between diverse groups of people. In the MiC lmmersion program, participants write, record and perform songs together.In the process, they discover common ground while learning about each other's faith and culture.The also sharpen valuable life skills of collaboration, communication and compromise.

The Rotary Club of Tucker has teamed with MiC to support an immersion program at the Somali American Community center in Clarkston,Ga. The program brought together Somali and Bhutanese immigrant/refugee teens with American teens from the greater Atlanta area.

Rotarians attended practice sessions,dedicated two programs to the MiC project and viewed several

Videos of the productions as well as contributing $500.00 to the effort.

Tucker Rotarians enjoyed participating in this project and were pleased to see evidence of understanding, collaboration and friendliness among these young people of diverse cultures.
