The 2016 GRSP Maynard Memorial Weekend

The 2016 Maynard Memorial Weekend on September 9­11, 2016. This year, as in the past, the three Rotary Clubs of Lake Spivey/Clayton County, Henry County, & Griffin co­sponsored the event.

One of the most rewarding opportunities of the weekend is volunteering to be a Local Host Family and Henry County had 4 host families this year.

We met Friday night to pick up GRSP students at Clayton County Beach. The Henry Club held a Social at the home of James and Debbie Withers afterwards with a total of 12rotarians/family members at the social.

Saturday night the Henry County Rotary Club hosted all students (49 total GRSP students attended) and their host families from Clayton/Lake Spivey Club and Griffin Club. At Southern Belle Farms in McDonough Saturday evening.

We served an all American dinner of Hamburgers, Hotdogs and Black Bean Burgers for the vegeterians. The farm provided hay rides and a bonfire for smores.

We had 10 members of the Henry Club volunteer at the Farm Saturday night.
