Clinica De Salud Casa Samuel - Global Grant Project

Financial Contributions Total Project $79,500

The Alpharetta Rotary Club will be named in Marietta Metro’s Global Grant application, along with the East Cobb Rotary and the Smyrna Rotary Clubs which have both already confirmed their participation. Alpharetta Rotary’s participation as the majority contributor will allow the project to utilize a total of $31,000 in D6900 DDF.

The overall purpose of this project is to bring improved healthcare to an impoverished area of Mexico, whose residents cannot access needed care due to both distance and cost.

The objectives of this project are to:

  • Bring operational three working areas (waiting room, general exam room, pharmacy) of a new health clinic building
  • Order, purchase and install the furnishings and medical equipment needed for the clinic to open and begin servicing the community on a regular weekly schedule.
  • Assist with the first six months of Operating Expenses.

The clinic will serve 1,100 households (4,400 total population, mostly women and children

• Approximately 90% of the surrounding population has no access to health care except that which this clinic will provide. • The clinic will operate Mon-Friday and will be able to provide medical service to 30 people daily (dentistry, nutrition, psychology and ophthalmology services) • The nearest hospital is approximately an hour drive
