Alpharettta Rotary Club Welcomes Grsp Student, Antonella Trabanino, From El Salvador

The Alpharetta Rotary Club’s new GRSP (Georgia Rotary Student Program) student, Antonella Trabanino, arrived August 9, 2016 from her home in San Salvador, El Salvador. Antonella is 18 years old and will be a freshman in college this year. She will be attending the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.

The Rotary Club of Alpharetta selected Antonella based on her commitment to education and service. Our club is the sole sponsor of Antonella this year. When she is not at school, she will live with her host family, Bill and Cindy Weeks from the Alpharetta Rotary Club. Antonella’s second host family from the Club is John and Karen Hipes. Antonella will be living in Georgia from her arrival date of August 9, 2016 through June 2017.

Antonella is an honorary member of the Alpharetta Rotary Club. When time permits, she is expected to attend Rotary meetings as well as participate in club projects and social functions. She will also attend the Rotary District 6900 District Conference in April 2017. In addition, Antonella will attend eight statewide GRSP student weekends with other GRSP students attending colleges throughout Georgia.

Jason Binder, President of the Alpharetta Rotary Club, said, “We are very excited to have our club participating in this long-standing program that is hosted exclusively by Georgia Rotary Clubs. We are also thrilled about hosting Antonella this year. We will do everything we can as a club to make Antonella feel welcome in the United States”.
