Alpharetta Rotary partners with the collection of non-profits and invests in multiple strategies to alleviate homelessness and hunger for our community. 100% of our membership is actively involved in providing solutions and helping end the cycle of homelessness for hard-working families.
Homestretch Family
HomeStretch addresses the root causes of homelessness in our community to help stop the cycle of homelessness. The Rotary Club of Alpharetta annually sponsors an apartment and a family at HomeStretch at a cost of $7500. In addition, 25 Alpharetta Rotarians serve as Financial and Life Mentors for the family and volunteer to prepare homes for new families
Habitat for Humanity
Alpharetta Rotary contributed $8,500 to erase the $11,000 shortfall for Maria Tarelo's new Habitat home. “This is truly a blessing for me and my family,” she said. 15-20 Alpharetta Rotary also volunteer to build on a regular basis.
Drake House After-care
After-care for low income families is costly and no flexibility for non-traditional hour employment. We are partnering with the Drake House for an after-school program for residents in their crisis housing, with 9 students attending the program. Alpharetta Rotary contributed $4,000 for 8 Ipads and digital equipment for the programs's educational needs.
North Fulton Community Charities Food Pantry
Food Insecurity is a significant problem in North Fulton. Every Week, Monday through Friday, a Rotarian picks up day-old baked goods from Fresh Market to deliver to NFCC Food Pantry. 75% of our Club volunteer to pick up the 250 deliveries a year with an estimated value about $100K.
