Law Enforcement Officers of the Year - 2016

On January 26th NARClub recognized law enforcement officers from both the DeKalb County and Chamblee City Police Departments. This is our 29th year recognizing a "Detective of the Year" from DeKalb County and our 1st year recognizing an outstanding officer from the Chamblee Police Department.

Both individuals were chosen by their departments and represented exemplary service within their areas of responsibility. NARClub presented each officer with a plaque and a check for $500 from the club. One of the recipients is an undercover detective, so we are unable to share photos of both recipients in our publicity of the event. A write up on the event reflecting the honoring of Chamblee Officer William Robbins was published in both the Champion Newspaper and the Chamblee City News.

Our featured speaker was Ret. Senior DeKalb Superior Court Judge Robert Castellani who during his 45 years of service as a trial lawyer and Judge, helped create the "Drug Court" here in DeKalb County. Judge Castellani remains active in retirement as a Senior DeKalb Superior Court Judge and in teaching the law to seniors.

Partner Involvement
DeKalb and Chamblee Police Departments, especially the Chief, Assistant Chief and senior officers providing the qualification oversight for each nominee, and for coming out to support and honor these two recipients at our meeting.
