"I have been in education for 36 years and this is the first program that truly addresses what a bystander can do to help a victim of bullying. All of our students from grades 4-12 have been active in the BTV campaign for 2 years and it has made a huge difference in the way they treat their fellow peers and view each others differences. As educators, we appreciate the ease of implementing the program and how involved our students are in "Being the Voice" at school but also out in their community. Thank you so much to the Roswell Rotary Club for bringing this program to our school." - Libby Swinson, Cottage School Advisor
The Mission: Be The Voice (BTV) is another signature project of the Roswell Rotary Club. It started last year, but has grown by leaps and bounds. More members are on board as the program spreads to all of our Interact Schools and is adopted as a project by other Rotary clubs.
BTV Grows: This year's efforts were presented to the club in a special meeting that included Police Chief Rusty Grant. Rusty highlighted the impact that BTV has in lowering incidents of violence in our schools that come from bullying.
Expansion: BTV is not just a project, it is now a brand. The BTV committee has now formed a 501-C3 organization and packaged the educational materials so that other clubs and organization can start a BTV program at their schools. This is becoming a self-sustaining and long term initiative. If you want to get your club involved, ORDER A KIT
In Roswell, you will see the BTV on display at the high school football games, in all the programming of our 11 Interact Clubs and at many local community events. This year's program has impacted 15,000+ students and changed the culture at their schools.
