Habitat For Humanity Build - Feb 4

On Saturday, February 4th, members of the Rotary Club of Alpharetta participated in a Habitat for Humanity building project to help finish building a home in Cumming, GA. Rotarian Casey Robinson helped coordinate the work day and Rotarians Mickey Rogers, Randy Schiltz, John Hipes, Karen Hipes, Jason Binder, Katie Rocco, Brian Mould, Cookie Haynes, Bob Koncerak, Ralph Aguera, Morris Cowan, Deborah Swofford, Joe Wargo, and Cokkie Eaker worked from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm hanging hardie plank siding. In addition to the work of the Rotarians, students from Lambert High School pitched in to help make this house a home for its future owners.

Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit organization dedicated to helping families in need attain a home with an affordable mortgage. Habitat homeowners work alongside volunteers throughout the process to help build their home. Habitat is present in 31 states, including Georgia.

Habitat for Humanity homeowners are selected through Habitat’s application process, where they evaluate applicants on three criteria: the applicant’s level of need, their willingness to partner with Habitat, and their ability to repay a mortgage through an affordable payment plan. The Kjellstrom family has been chosen by Habitat for Humanity as recipients of this home. The family worked with volunteers to help complete their future home; they are extremely grateful and humbled for being accepted by Habitat for Humanity.
