Honduras - Lunches for Learning Support

This year, our annual school graduation trip was led by Terry Taylor, Kay Love and Theo Keyserling. As a club, we are proud to partner with Lunches for Learning (L4L). to continue our sponsorship of a school. Working with L4L we are able to travel in country, do mission work and safely deliver meals and the means to prepare them at schools in southern Honduras.

RRC is in our fifth year of sponsoring a school so that kids receive lunches each day. When we started, our school was one of eight. But through our efforts there are now over 30 sponsored schools! Each serves 50 to 100 kids. Three of our members now privately fund a school. RRC members now serve on the L4L board, are trip leaders and help other clubs and churches become sponsors.

We schedule mission trips throughout the year to let members experience how their dollars and denotations are being put to good use. Over 25 members of our club have gone to Honduras.

Our Hearts For Honduras Valentines Day Event raised funds while answering the challenge to show "Rotary Has Heart" during February. More on this event in separate project below.

RRC members are directly responsible for more than 2000 kids being kept in school by simply feeding them lunch!
