Annual Soup Santa Event

In past years, our club has collected food items to be donated to the LaGrange Interfaith Food Closet. In an effort to make a greater impact with this project, we learned that monetary donations could be used by the organization to purchase food at a much reduced cost and the proceeds would provide more than we could collect.

The food drive is held in conjunction with the club serving soup and salad for one meeting during the month of December and the difference in cost is also included in the donation.

This year we requested monetary donations instead of food and were able to exceed last year's contribution. A total of $1321.30 was donated due to the generosity of our club members.

The Interfaith Food Closet makes the decision of how the food is distributed depending upon the individual circumstances of the household being served. The elderly and veterans are two groups who are especially helped by this association.
