This is our fifth year that we have participated in District 6900's Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust (CART) project.
Special purple cups make their appearance on our members' tables on our first January meeting. An explanation is given at the beginning of the meeting then with reminders for the program at each successive meeting. The cups are brought out for all of the meetings January through February.
Although specific recommendations for giving are never stated to our members, we do encourage them to be as generous as they are able. Counting this years contributions, our last four years of donating has now hit the $1000 mark.
We are confident that this year's contribution will help in the research of such a devastating disease that currently affects many of our loved ones.
This is another example of our Club members all pulling together.
(Since records are not kept on who actually donates the number of volunteers are estimated, as are the hours involved.)
Coins are collected throughout this fundraiser but we also never say no to dollar bills.
Wayne Bartley offers a dollar to Mark Davis to go into the CART Purple Cup.
