Roswell Rotary is a club blessed with a strong Foundation. That Foundation exists as a 501c3 organization and is the charity arm of our club. And while its primary purpose is in support of the 30+ local charities and our club projects around the world, we also carve off a piece of the Foundation pie to insure that it grows and remains strong.
To this end, Roswell Rotary set aside, this year, $10,000 of foundation funds to be used as matching dollars toward any member trying to achieve their first or next level of Paul Harris giving to the foundation.
The unique twist is that is can ONLY be used to achieve that next level of giving. So, for example, if you are at $1,800 on your way to a Paul Harris plus one, the club will put up $100 if you will put up the other $100 to achieve the award level. N
Newer members have used this to get to their first Paul Harris. Any given member can receive up to $300 in matching funds. Thus, any year a member can put in $700 and receive $300 in club Foundation matching funds to reach the next PH goal.
As you can see, $10,000 can help insure a high level of giving by members. Typically, this results in 40 to 50 new Paul Harris awards being subsidized each year.
