The Rotary Club of East Cobb looks forward each year to sponsoring a GRSP student along with one or two other nearby Rotary clubs, and this year's joint sponsorship is shared with the Rotary Club of Marietta. East Cobb Rotary also enjoys the privilege of club member Blaine Hess serving as a GRSP Trustee, and seven percent (7%) of club members have direct involvement with our club's GRSP project this Rotary year.
Our 2016-2017 GRSP student from Sweden, Sara Jaeger, is smart, friendly, and a pleasure to include as part of East Cobb's Family of Rotary. She attends Kennesaw State University, makes good grades, participates in weekly meetings at both of her Rotary clubs, and thoroughly enjoys GRSP weekend conclaves around Georgia.
GRSP's program purpose is to promote world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. This International Service project is centered on the youth of the world in whose hands rest the future of world peace. Sara certainly has been a pleasant and diplomatic ambassador for peace during her months as a GRSP student. If current performance serves as predictor of future performance then Sara can be expected to serve as an ambassador for world peace the rest of her life.
