We all have people in our vocational lives who support us in the success we achieve in our businesses and professions, and it's important to provide them with recognition. Each year the Rotary Club of East Cobb schedules a luncheon meeting, instead of the club's usual breakfast meeting, to thank these individuals for making our professional lives better.
Our purpose is twofold. First, we want to thank those who are a part of making us successful in our vocational endeavors. Second, we want them to take part in a Rotary meeting so they can be introduced to and better understand our service work through Rotary. Approximately twenty-five individuals are honored each year with introduction, a certificate of appreciation, a photo opportunity and an outstanding program speaker.
This year's event is scheduled for May and being planned by a committee of 4 Rotarians (6% of club members). Of course, club members also participate by bringing their key vocational associates to this special meeting. Cost for certificates and some of the additional meals totals around $200. It's a fun, light-hearted meeting certainly worth the investment of time and financial resources.
