East Cobb Rotary's Dog Days Run is the club's primary fundraiser held the last Saturday in July for eleven consecutive years. A large portion of funds raised from this event are directly invested into charitable causes close to the heart of the club and presented at the annual "Dog Days Give Back Breakfast." This year's event is scheduled for March 8, 2017. Thirty-two (32) fund recipients plus the platinum, gold and silver sponsors of the Dog Days Run will be in attendance.
A total of $68,745 will be presented to organizations such as Canine Assistance for training dogs to help the disabled, to Georgia Cares for residential care of a victim rescued from domestic minor sex trafficking, to the Center for Family Resources for feeding and work force training for the working poor, to Family Promise for housing homeless families together, to Kidz 2 Leaders for providing camp and life experience support for children whose parents are incarcerated, and to twenty-seven other organizations. Hearing from all of these Dog Days beneficiaries about how the funds will be used for SERVING HUMANITY is always inspiring.
Energy and a sense of accomplishment fill the room each year as proceeds are given to charities impacting the East Cobb community. It is a celebration of Service Above Self in full operation.
