Rotary Has Heart for Seniors

Throughout each year North Atlanta Rotary goes out to a local residential care home to participate and support them in their programs.

In mid-December we brought Santa and a few elves to help bring cheer and add festivity to their holiday dinner and celebration with residents and family members. Santa speaks to each resident one on one while in the dining hall and gives each a candy cane. (We have the best Santa!) Most have family visiting for the event as well.

As one of our Rotary Has Heart initiatives, we helped reinstated the Ashton Woods Beauty Pageant that was held on February 15th. We brought the 3 judges, the MC, 2 escorts, bouquets of flowers, corsages, and boxes of chocolates for the participants. This was really quite a touching event where each participant, with the help of staff, family or friends, was dolled up to make feel extra special. She was asked 5 questions by our "Bert Parks" MC and had a chance to interact with the audience. The crowned Miss Ashton Woods cried, she was so happy. They were all quite adorable. The winner has an opportunity to move on this Spring, to another pageant held among centers in this industry.
