Teacher of the Year

At the DeKalb Rotary Council Annual Awards Breakfast the 9 Council Rotary Clubs honor their Teacher of the Year. NA Rotary Club chose Ms Lucretia Gant, Career, Technical & Agricultural Education Department Chair, Chamblee Charter High School. We've worked with Ms Gant the last two years in support of the VEX Robotics and Electric Vehicle Programs supported with our Club's District Grant funds. She has been instrumental in providing oversight of the programs and keeping NA Rotary well informed and involved with volunteer opportunities.

Ms Gant holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and has been a teacher for 13 years. She began her career in science and mathematics and 3 years ago stepped into her current role as an Engineering teacher and Department Head.

We are honored to award this recognition to Ms. Gant, a truly outstanding teacher and student advocate. Candace Steadman, CCHS Assistant Principal said ... "Ms Gant is a jewel and our school is so much better because of what she has poured into us." She..."is a pioneer and extraordinary educator. What a well deserved Honor!" From Hakim Felts, CCHS Broadcasting Teacher: "Ms Gant goes above and beyond to ensure her students excel academically. She provides positive direction to make certain her students are prepared to enter the workforce as skilled professionals. I am thankful to have such a wonderful colleague." From her students ..."Ms Gant always encourages us to perform at our best. She genuinely cares ... and we know this through her actions."
