The Rotary Club of Carrollton launched its second annual fundraiser for charities and service projects.. With the help of roughly 10+ Rotarians from our club and a handful of Dawnbreakers and Rotaract members, the car giveaway was a huge success. Tickets were sold for $100 with only 800 printed from September to November 13, 2018. We utilized a Veteran's Day event where we honored our Veterans and to give appreciation to their service to our nation. We completed the event at a special meeting at the Venue at Cedar. We completed the drawing at the end of the meeting. We raised $63,000 in ticket sales with a net of $32,000. All money will be used for local projects and non-profit partnerships.
Most importantly, about $13,300 of the funds raised, will be used to build a playground for Dept. of Family and Children's services foster children. We will use these funds along with $10,000 from Rotary 6900 to build this playground. Excluding fund raising expenses, all of the remaining money will be used to fund non-profit donations.
