Continuum of Care Helping Hands Drive/Homestretch

Since 1903 HomeStretch has been guiding working families toward increased self-reliance and stability.  They provide supportive housing and programs that equip working families to regain and sustain permanent housing.

The Rotary Club of Alpharetta Continuum of Care Committee is actively supporting: The Drake House, Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity and HomeStretch.  Each of these organizations is engaged in the goal of ending homelessness by: Quickly rehousing the homeless and those experiencing housing instability and promoting programs to help optimize future self-sufficiency and housing stability.  The projects to date include: Providing meals, Needs/Donation drive, Donations for holiday gifts for families in habitat, subsidizing rents, providing grants for each organization and orchestrating a panel discussion with key leadership of the organizations involved.

HOMESTRETCH APT 109 At Homestretch we are able to go deep. We funded a resident for a year in apartment 109B. We painted, furnished, decorated and provided the initial inventory of non-perishable and perishable food. Alpharetta Rotarians have volunteered to serve as a life and financial mentor for the resident of the apartment. Over 15% of the Club invested their time to the project and we're not done yet. The impact Homestretch has on the community is not measurable and our impact on the family will be viewed as a success if they stay one month or for the full program.
