Willis set a dynamic tone for his year in office. He set a goal for all clubs in the district to place an “Accent on Youth”. At the District Conference he followed his own theme by having entertainment provided by the youthful singers from West Georgia College, of Carrollton, singing songs from the hit musical “My Fair Lady”. The Griffin Club won the Best Club award, as they have done many times.
A new club was chartered in Clayton County on June 10, 1960, sponsored by East Point.
