The Club Assembly was held at the Executive Park Hotel in Atlanta, with good turnout. The assembly accepted the budget and the schedule of club visits from the governor.
During the summer and fall the governor made visits to all clubs. The meetings were well accepted with good morale and Rotary spirit in all clubs. A new club. North DeKalb sponsored by Buckhead Rotary Club, was chartered on May 10, 1962. Late in the fall a Rotary District Institute was held at Callaway Gardens. The meeting focused on Rotary information and was a great success.
The District Conference opened on Jekyll Island on April 29 with 532 registered and 39 of 41 clubs represented. Past RI Director Edward V. Long, of Bowling Green, Missouri, was the official representative of RI president Joseph A. Abey.
