Bob was enthusiastic as governor. Contributions to the Rotary Foundation were over $140,000 (Record) with (104) new Paul Harris Fellows. There was a “Group Study Exchange” with District 233 from Sweden and we Hosted a “Family Exchange” from West Germany District 190. The District awarded (5) Rotary Foundation Scholarships and (2) Scholarships to Oslo, Norway. All (52) Clubs contributed to The Rotary Foundation. Contributions to GRSP produced (67) Will Watt Fellows and (3) Named Funds. All GRSP Trustees in 690 were Will Watt Fellows.

Chartered (7) new Interact Clubs and (4) new Rotaract Clubs. Hosted the State Interact Convention. The District Assembly was well attended (307) and with “Rotary Going Hawaiian” (971) attended the District Conference. Bob established the (3) Categories in clubs for awards. District membership was at 4,010 a 2% gain and attendance set a record at 87.75% for the year.

Bob as DGN from District 690 was a part of a milestone as he and (446) DGN’s from all over the Rotary World accepted along with R.I. President Ed Cadman the challenge of Dr. Albert Sabin to adopt POLIO PLUS as a world wide project. This took place in February, 1985 at International Assembly in Nashville, Tennessee.
