October 28, 2019 Lance Burchett KSU Advancement

Lance Burchett serves as Vice President for University Advancement and CEO of the KSU Foundation at Kennesaw State University - one of the 50 largest public universities in the USA. KSU is a Carnegie designated doctoral research institution (R2), placing it among an elite group of only 6% of US colleges and universities with an R1 or R2 status.

A 30-year veteran of higher education, Lance has also held leadership positions at San Diego State University, Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota FL, and his alma mater the University of Arkansas – where he was a two-time Phi Beta Kappa graduate and a walk-on quarterback under then head coach Lou Holtz.

Burchett has had management and leadership roles in fundraising initiatives and Campaigns that have raised over $600 million. As the CEO of the KSU Foundation he oversees over $400 million in assets and is helping the Foundation celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.

An active Rotarian with more than 25 years of perfect attendance, Lance is a Paul Harris Fellow and has received Rotary International’s Presidential Citation Award. He also has the uncommon distinction of serving as President of Rotary Clubs in 3 different states.

Lance’s family here in Marietta consists of his wife “Sherry” and daughter “Malia” who is a sophomore at Mt. Paran and on the girls’ soccer team. They also have an older son in Bellingham WA, and an oldest son in Orlando with Lance’s 3 grandchildren.
