The 2019-20 Sheffield Winners will be honored in 2021 along with the 2020-21 winners. If you made reservations at The Windsor Hotel, please call (229) 924-1555 to cancel your room. The event was to be held at The Carnegie in downtown Americus on May 16, 2020, and included a catered surf & turf dinner, an auction, and special entertainment. We will all be together again soon! The Sheffield Leadership Award, established in 1994, is presented by the Rotary Club of Americus in honor of three Past District Governors – all from the same family and the Americus Rotary Club. It honors John West Sheffield (District 39, 1926-27), John W. Sheffield (District 690, 1961-62), and Langdon Sheffield (District 6900, 1975-76), who have each served this Rotary District as District Governors. The award is presented annually to the District 6900 club presidents (from each of the club size categories) who best exemplify the extraordinary leadership traits represented by the Sheffield family and execute their responsibilities in an exceptional manner.

He served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps prior to moving to Thomasville where he has practiced anesthesiology for over 30 years. He and his wife Kim have three grown sons.
Chip’s lifelong passion for American history has resulted in the publication of more than fifty articles and four books—two about the Civil War and two about the Revolutionary War.
His fifth book, Patriots in Exile: Charleston Rebels in St. Augustine during the American Revolution, will be released in June of this year.
He is the current chairman of the Education Committee of the Society of the Cincinnati, our nation's oldest patriotic organization, founded in 1783 by officers of the Continental Army who served together during the Revolutionary War.
| 22 12:15p Atlanta West End: Tess Sobomehin, runningnerds (online meeting) Guest In 2018, Tess Sobomehin and runningnerds took the lead to organize and produce the inaugural The Race Half Marathon & 5K. The Race collaborating over 1500 runners, walkers, sponsors, and volunteers to host a road race that ran through historic Westside Atlanta neighborhoods and made a charitable impact on those communities through service and monetary donations. The Race is the first endurance road race event of its kind with a heavy emphasis on supporting black owned businesses & charities as well as targeting the growing African-American distance running community. The Race 2019 was successfully executed with 1700 participants. The Race 2020 is slated for October 1st-4th.
