Regular Meeting - Program Speaker Jadrien Grimes, Hands On AtlantaAdd Guest

Jadrien Grimes is a proud 2006 graduate of Valdosta State University. After graduation, he joined Wells Fargo and worked in consumer & commercial banking in several capacities for 12 years, eventually serving as a leader in small business growth & operations. A large component of Jadrien’s life purpose is to motivate, inspire, and help others get a step or two closer to their goals and dreams, specifically young people. He is a true advocate of using the influence we have been blessed with, to be IMPACTFUL…especially in underserved communities. With that sentiment leading the way, in 2019, he made a career change to the nonprofit space where he served for 2 years as the Head of Business Operations at North Metro Academy of Performing Arts. In September of 2021, he joined Hands On Atlanta as the new Community & Civic Engagement Manager where he leads the organization’s volunteer engagement strategy, manages the Civic Leadership program, and heads the Changemakers Board.

Outside of an incredible new career, he volunteers as a youth football coach, mentor, and at Metro Atlanta Boys & Girls clubs. He is also a praise and worship leader at the Berean Christian Church, Board Member at Trinity Community Ministries, member of the Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration Business Advisory Board, former Board Member of the Showcase Group, former Vice Chairman of the National Minority Prostate Cancer Association, past pro bono consultant for Meals on Wheels Atlanta, an active member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Valdosta State University Alumni Association, former Co-Host of the Inspiring Educators Podcast, President of the Atlanta Chapter of Cigar Men of Distinction, and Co-Owner of J Squared Entertainment, a full-service event entertainment company. A few of his most notable achievements are being selected for the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2016, serving as 2020-2021 Co-Chair of the LEAD Atlanta Alumni Association, being recognized as the 2021 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year representing the Langdale College of Business at Valdosta State University, being 1 of 10 selected to the 2022 Outstanding Atlanta class, receiving the 2023 Community Impact Award from the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals, being chosen to participate in the 2023 Regional Leadership Institute led by the Atlanta Regional Commission, and being selected for the inaugural class of the 2023-2024 Henry County Schools Community Leadership Academy.

Jadrien is a proud native of Damascus, GA and currently resides in south Atlanta. His interests include all things football, traveling, volunteering, reading, spending time with family and close friends, fishing, and a good cigar.
