FAMILY OF ROTARY

Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com

President John’s Message

With Memorial Day yesterday, I am so thankful for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country and our freedom.  I applaud and thank our Memorial Day committee for hosting with the City of Roswell another great ceremony remembering those who gave all.  And thanks to all our Rotary volunteers that gave their time to bring this great tribute to our community.

Roswell Rotary has for years sought to honor our veterans and remember those who died in service to our great nation.  When we started this Rotary year in July, we decided to make a concerted effort to revive the Honor Air Flight tradition and take a group of veterans to Washington, DC to visit the Vietnam, Korea and World War II memorials as we did many times for over 10 years. Unfortunately, we regretfully announce to the club that we will not be making the trip this year.  Here is more information regarding this decision.

Additionally, in 2021, Roswell Inc became an accredited economic development organization (AEDO) through the International Economic Development Council.

Over the last 5 years Roswell Inc has worked on more than 550 recruitment, retention and expansion projects, creating or retaining more than 6,200 jobs. Notable projects include GM Innovation Center, Grey Orange, Southern Post mixed-use development, West Alley mixed-use development, Enterprise Super Center, Brixmor Property Group, PGA Superstore, Delta Dental, McKesson, SpringHill Suites and Home2 Suites. Stroud and his team continue to position Roswell as one of the premier cities in the region for innovative, community-minded businesses and entrepreneurs.

The Lee Hollingsworth Interview with PDG Kirk Driscoll

Past District Governor Kirk Driscoll interviews our own Lee Hollingsworth on his new show.

Many of us know of PDG Kirk's tireless efforts to help people achieve better lives, particularly those affected by emotional and mental issues. From depression and anxiety to addiction and suicide, these affect us all. Kirk established the men's recovery residence, Vision Warriors, just over the county line in Canton.

This is a very frank discussion of critical  issues, from actual life experiences, that in some way touch us all.
