President Alex's MessageFellow Rotarians: I hope everyone enjoyed last week's speaker's presentation on Tenacious. What a wonderful Georgia story! Fall is in the air! We are readying our Youth Day Parade Float- special thanks to Zach Fields and Jack Wyche and their float team for designing/building/driving our club's float. Also, please remember to bring your bags of candy (no chocolate) so that they can be distributed from the float by our interact members. Do you ever wonder why we make floats, throw candy, and celebrate Youth Day with a parade? Please come this Thursday to find out from Elaine DeNiro and our own RRC spouse, Judy Meer, President of Roswell Historical Society. We will also have Mayor Wilson and our Council doing their Youth Day Parade proclamation with the introductions of their youth stand-ins. This month we also have our Corn Hole Tournament to raise funds to continue our fight against Polio as well as Gary Garrett's Family Farm Day! We also need to remember to sign up veterans as well as service members for our Honor Bus Trip on November 10th as well as to provide supplies for our Adopt a Platoon and volunteers for our Veterans Basketball Fundraiser. She now sits on the Commission as an Ex-Officio member as the President of the Roswell Historical Society. Judy and her husband Rick founded Meer Electric in 1984 after relocating to Roswell from the historic mill town of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, in 1981. After 39 years, they retired in January of this year and left son, Peter, his wife, Kelly and their daughter, Cierra in place to continue their legacy. Elaine DeNiro is the archivist for the Roswell Historical Society/City of Roswell Research Library and Archives, where she has been responsible for the acquisition, cataloging, and preservation of historical materials since 1999. She provides public access for these significant collections both online and at the Research Library.
