President's Message
Rotary Connects The World

I can not imagine a better story for our RI theme of Rotary Connects The World, than that of Freedom Fighter IPA. It all starts when then President Dave McCleary learned that human trafficking is happening in our backyard everyday. Pat Rains served as Dave's tournament chair. Years later, Pat Rains and Brian Borngesser meet at our club and share their love of brewing beer. From that relationship, Gate City Brewing Company is born. Fast forward a few more years and the beer Pat & Brian brewed to support Dave's efforts to end human trafficking not only raised money but will raise awareness on all Delta flights out of Atlanta in 2020. (Thanks to Michael Gould for the image)

This Week's Speaker
District Governor Jim Squire

Our District Governor, Jim Squire, is a person of action guided by our motto of Service Above Self, as evidenced by his many years of service to his community, his profession and Rotary. His Rotary service includes the 2017 International Convention Executive Committee, District Youth Services Chair and Assistant Governor, where he won the District AG of the Year Follow Me award. He has served on the Rotary Laws of Life Board, volunteered at several District Conferences and graduated from the Rotary Leadership Institute. Jim and his wife Donna live in Sandy Springs, where they are active in the Dunwoody United Methodist Church. They have a son and a daughter who have blessed them with three grandsons and two granddaughters. Read Jim's full bio on the District 6900 website.
