What You Missed Last Week!

Fellow Rotarians, last week our meeting was a triple feature. We had the induction of Dominic Ford as a new member. Dawna Bicknell-Tanner gave her classification talk. And rounding out the trifecta was Jack Martin and Chris Jones, owners of the Georgia Beer Company.

I believe Dominic is the second new member inducted into the club in almost as many weeks of the new year. Fran, we promise not to wear you out with one induction each week. However we do need new members and we do have a tagline that says, “Each one brings one.”

Classification talks continue to be a useful tool that help members get to know each other. That was certainly the case last week with Dawna. Each talk gives members a peek into the life of the Rotarian. This helps us know the people we are working with. Thanks Dawna, for allowing us to know you better.

As was mentioned above, our program was Jack Martin and Chris Jones, owners of the Georgia Beer Company. Chris did a great job opening our eyes to one of the hidden gems of our South Georgia community. Hidden, because at the Georgia Beer Company, you can buy and drink your beer in the taproom. But there is more to this brewery. “Whether you are hosting a small business meeting, civic club luncheon, birthday party or Wedding Reception, we have a selection of private spaces. If the weather is nice, try our outdoor pump-house. Or if you want your guests to feel extra exclusive, host your event within the brewery itself in the brew house or cellar.” We thank Chris for a wonder program. This week, be sure you “Serve To Change Lives.”

This Week's Program
GLIMPSE AT STEPHEN FOSTER - PETER POTTER AND JACK POPE

Accomplished performers Peter Potter and Jack Pope will regale us with selections from the Stephen Foster songbook. Homer Panky will narrate.

Let's send him off with gifts!
Colby Sellers is moving to Athens, GA

Colby Sellers has worked at The Plaza for the past 8 years. Six of those years he has been a server for the Thursday Rotary Club meetings. Colby has decided to venture out and join his girlfriend in Athens. This will be his LAST week as our server.

We would like to thank Colby for all of his dedicated service to Rotarians. Please place something in The blue CART buckets for him.
