This Week's Speaker
Elizabeth L. Branch, Federal Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit

Join us to welcome Judge Elizabeth Branch as she shares her story of her path to the bench.  You can join in person at LeMeridien or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86202979419

In March of 2018, Judge Lisa Branch was appointed to serve as a Circuit Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  From 2012 to 2018, she served as a judge on the Court of Appeals of Georgia.  Prior to her judicial service, she spent her entire private practice career in commercial litigation at Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP in Atlanta, from summer clerk to associate to partner. Service and Fellowship Opportunity
Help Us Welcome the World - GRSP Leadership Weekend - March 4-6

In just three weeks, we will welcome 38 students from the Georgia Rotary Student Program to the GRSP weekend that's been a signature tradition of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody for more than 20 years.  We hope that you will take time to be part of it! It's a great opportunity to mingle with university students from 20 different countries who are spending a year studying in Georgia.

The weekend features a pizza, photo booth and music party on Friday, along with a service project to pack meals for Rise Against Hunger. We'll also offer a variety of workshops and speakers on Saturday, Saturday night suppers at the homes of Jennie Stipick, Carter Stout and Cathie Brumfield, and Atlanta Rotaract's own version of Shark Tank on Sunday morning. There's a role for anyone and everyone who wants to take part - from photography to food, set up and clean up, and just plain welcoming these amazing students. Many of you have already signed up to be host families for the weekend.

To learn more about the weekend and how you can help, join us on Zoom next Tuesday, February 15, at 7:00 pm -  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87579318386?pwd=Wmo3Wk9rRTRtWmJIdHF6YTM1UStRdz09  If you can't join us then, contact Ron Barden.

Service Opportunity
Help Rescue the Forest

Join Cathie Brumfield and other Dunwoody Rotarians this Saturday at the Dunwoody Nature Center to continue the process of saving the old growth forest. The fun starts on Saturday morning at 9:00 am. Register on the Dunwoody Nature Center website and let Cathie know you're coming. Bring along gloves and your favorite garden tools.

Golf Tournament Update
Club Launches Our Inaugural Golf Tournament

As you all should know by now, our major find raising event for Rotary Year 2021-2022 will be a golf tournament. The proceeds will go to the Georgia Alzheimer's Association. The tournament is aptly named FORE! The Memories (thank you Anne Glenn). It will be played at St. Marlo Country Club (https://www.stmarlo.com/) at 7755 St. Marlo
Country Club Pkwy, Duluth, Georgia on May 16, 2022.

Bob O'Brien and Co-Chair Charlie Augello have put together a talented team to lead our efforts, but we need the involvement of each and every Club member to make this event a success. There are two ways you can help immediately:
  • Tell all your golfing friends to Save the Date and plan to join us for the tournament.
  • Think about becoming a sponsor of the tournament - or asking someone you know to be a sponsor. There are many sponsor opportunities available - from being the Platinum Sponsor at $10,000 all the way to being a Ghost Sponsor for $100 - the in-betweens include sponsoring a hole, a putting contest, the hats, and much more. Rick Woods is leading the charge on sponsorships, so contact him if you would like to help. And keep watching the weekly bulletin for more information.
