GRSP Leadership Weekend
Choose Your Place Now! Help Welcome the World - March 4-6

We want (and need) each of you to be part of a 20-year Dunwoody tradition ... the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) Leadership Weekend. Why have we been hosting this weekend for 20+ years? There are many reasons:

  • We get to spend time with 38 international college students who are here for a one-year cultural exchange through a unique program created by Georgia Rotarians 75 years ago
  • We have the opportunity to instill the spirit of Rotary in these young people
  • We like spending time with each other - and with great partners from the Rotary Clubs of Buckhead, Gainesville and North Atlanta.

Many of you are hosting students for the whole weekend - THANK YOU! However, the rest of you should know that there are many other opportunities to be part of the weekend. Check out the attached agenda and the list of opportunities (click "more" at the end of the story) - and give Ron or Louise Barden a call if you see an opportunity that's just right for you - or you have questions. Rotary Youth Exchange
Meet an Exchange Student! HOST an Exchange Student!!

Rotary Youth Exchange is BACK!!  The Rotary Club of Dunwoody will be hosting a female high school student for the 2022-23 school year (August 2022 - May 2023).  We need your help! There are two ways you can help:

  • Become a certified Youth Exchange volunteer, which will allow you to help with driving our student to her activities, interviewing potential host families, and other interaction with our student and host families. This requires a short U.S. State Department training and a background check.
  • Host our student!  We are looking for three host families in the Dunwoody High School district to host our student for about three months each. No particular type of family is required - you can be empty nesters, a family with young children, a family with older children - any family make up. Hosting an exchange student will enrich every family’s life!

Please consider becoming involved in this important program.  Questions?  Contact Deb Cameron, dsc630@gmail.com or 404.668.1259.

RI Convention 2022
RI Convention Live and in Person in Houston This June - Register Now!

We want you to know that, in response to questions and concerns raised by members world-wide, the Rotary International Board of Directors has confirmed that the 2022 Rotary International Convention will still be an in-person event in Houston, Texas, USA, 4-8 June.

In addition, the Board has determined that all participants, including Rotary International preconvention participants, must either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) OR provide a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before their arrival at the convention.

To encourage attendance, considering this news, there is a special registration rate of US$495 through 28 February, which is retroactive to 16 December. Any registrations made at the US$575 rate since 16 December will automatically be refunded the difference in price — no action is required from the registrant.
