This Week's Speakers
Georgia Laws of Life Essay Winners ... in Person and Via Zoom

Join us this Friday to celebrate this year's Dunwoody High School winners in the Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest. Heather Van Wyk, our faculty sponsor for several years, will join the students. You have two ways to join - in person at Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter, 111 Perimeter Center West, Atlanta GA 30346, or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86202979419

This year 29,977 students from 62 partner high schools shared their Georgia Laws of Life Essay. The contest named 140 School-Level Winners and 7 State Winners, and it presented $17,950 in cash awards to students and teachers. The Rotary Club of Dunwoody has been a huge supporter of this program for almost 20 years. [more]

Watch Where You're Parking!

When you arrive at this Friday's meeting (or any Friday's meeting), please refrain from parking in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot. Last week, at least 75% of us walked out on the Mayor (for about 5 minutes) when President Carter interrupted her talk to say that the manager at Wells Fargo was about to call the towing company. The lot is marked for "Wells Fargo Customers Only."

You can park in LeMeridien's lot on Friday morning at no charge to you! When you go to leave push the call button to raise the gate.

Golf Tournament Update
It's Time to Tee Up at St. Marlo!

Next Monday morning - May 16 - golfers will tee off in our inaugural Golf Tournament at St. Marlo Country Club.  "Fore the Memories" will benefit the Georgia Alzheimer's Association and our Dunwoody Charitable Fund, which funds much of our work in the community during the year.

Jennifer Shumway is coordinating our volunteers for the days event! If you have signed up to help, thank you ... and please plan to arrive a few minutes before your shift begins. If you haven't volunteered yet - and would like to - contact Jennifer now. We won't be set up for walk-in volunteers.

If you are not golfing or volunteering, you can still come to the after-event and bid in the silent auction after 3:00PM.

It's never too late to make a donation - visit Home - FORE! The Memories (rcdgolftournament.com)

Thanks to all of you for your support!

Thank You!
Dunwoody Arts Festival a BIG Success.. Thanks to You!

More than 20 Dunwoody Rotarians were on hand Friday, Saturday and Sunday - to help artists set up and break down their booths ... and to represent Dunwoody Rotary in our own booth! We appreciate all your help.

Here's what Cindy and Frances of Splash Festivals had to say ...

Thank you! We are so grateful for all the help that you gave us at the Dunwoody Art Festival! The exhibitors were so thankful, and of course, we were honored that you gave of your time. It was challenging for us to move back to the Parkway after a short hiatus, but you all made it seamless, and the vendors were truly amazed by your kindness.

To the Dunwoody Rotary Club (and members of the Rotaract), you are truly the Dream Team.  You help every year, and we consider you family. It’s always so comforting to see you early in the morning, and this year, on Friday night too – we know that you have everyone’s back. Our regulars (you know who you are) and all the new volunteers, you are the best – your smiles and warmth were felt by all the artists.  They are even writing notes to us about your thoughtfulness and eagerness to help. The students from the Chamblee High School Beta Club, Chamblee High School National Honor Society and Dunwoody High School Interact Club were incredible, and the vendors were overwhelmed by the support! We give you an A+.We had a blast!

Bring Prospective Members to Spruill Gallery May 26

On May 26, RCD will host our special Thirsty Thursday "Prospective Member" event at the Spruill Art Gallery. We hope to see all of you - and all the people you think would appreciate knowing more about Rotary and the prospects of becoming a Rotarian. There's a new exhibit at the Gallery, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, and we'll have a fine evening of food, fellowship and fun!

Plan to join us there and start planning your guest list now!
