President John's MessageThis week a bunch of us head down to Sandestin, Florida for our annual Rotary District 6900 Conference for fun and fellowship with other Rotarians around the district celebrating the past Rotary year and welcoming in our new leadership. For those who can’t make it down to Sandestin, not to worry, you are in good hands for our Thursday lunch meeting as Past President Lou Tabickman will be ringing the bell. And as I said last week, we are sure to learn another Law of Life or two from our own Hal Coleman when he shares with us about growing up in the South.
Program this Week Hal Coleman: Growing Up in the South Ain't What It used to BeBe ready to laugh and enjoy yourself on Thursday as our own stand up comedian Hal Coleman entertains our club. Warning...be on guard for stealth jokes, as he is "spit out your tea" funny! A real treat. RRAH Learns About Organ Donation
Roswell Rotary After Hours had a special meeting last week in honor of National Donate Life Month. Caroline Burleigh and Beth Lehman from LifeLink of Georgia shared their personal stories--Caroline received a tissue donation for her knee and Beth received a liver. They also spoke on the life-saving work LifeLink does and answered common myths.
Then, RRAH's very own Will Albers shared his journey on receiving a kidney from his father, Roswell Rotarian John Albers. 15 members of RRAH are thrilled to attend tonight’s Atlanta Braves game where Will and John will be honored on the field for their contributions towards state legislature surrounding organ donation!
If you're not already an organ donor and would like to sign up, learn more here: https://www.donatelifegeorgia.org/
The club also pinned it’s newest member, Max Walker! Max is a logistics analyst at The Home Depot. Welcome!
The next RRAH meeting will be a Cinco de Mayo recruitment event on May 2nd. The club will not meet at The Artillery Room. Volunteers Needed This Saturday at the Unity Garden

May 4-6 International Peace ConferenceLooking forward to the 2023 International Peace Conference on May 4-6 right here in the heart of the South! This conference will feature over 80 speakers from across the globe who will speak on topics such as human trafficking, reducing violence in our communities, education, social justice, empowerment of women and much more. The Human Trafficking program is particularly strong, bringing many of the best presenters encountered working on this issue. In addition to the Human Trafficking panels and presentations, there will also be speakers on Empowering Women and Girls, some of whom are also either treating trafficking victims or educating girls on how to avoid the dangers of traffickers; on domestic violence; and, on preventing child marriage. This is a “don’t miss” event! Take advantage of the great lineup of speakers and convene with others who are dedicated to ending human trafficking as well as many more who are building peace in other ways, including the largest group of Rotary Peace Fellows you are ever likely to encounter in one place at one time.
