PRESIDENT'S CORNER
President Scott Einfeldt's Welcome Message

In 2021, The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs celebrated our 50th anniversary of providing volunteer services and financial support to charities in and around Sandy Springs. Our core seven areas of focus are: Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development, Water and Sanitation, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Maternal and Child Health and Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution. If you have a heart’s desire to serve in one of these areas, Rotary is the best civic organization to utilize your time, talent and treasures. I welcome you to visit our club for a free lunch on us and to experience the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs' hospitality and energy. We meet on Monday for lunch at 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Hilton Perimeter Suites, 6120 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. You can just show up at our lunch meeting or call me at 404.272.0294 for more information about our lunch meeting or Rotary in general. Come and network with your fellow professionals, and community and business leaders, and learn how Rotary can fit in your future. Enjoy Rotary and Serve to Change Lives!

JOIN SANDY SPRINGS PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs is hosting a Pickleball fundraiser on June 17th at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center near the intersection of Roswell Road and Abernathy. A portion of the proceeds will go to one of our community partners, Vision To Learn. Vision To Learn is a not-for-profit organization that provides free eye exams and glasses to children in low-income communities across the United States. This year, the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs partnered with Vision to Learn, and our club donated more than 800 pair of eyeglasses to elementary and middle school students in Sandy Springs.

Our club is now registering players for the Pickleball Madness Tournament. All skill levels are accepted. If you've never played Pickleball before you can pick it up in mere minutes - I played just one time a few weeks ago for an hour and I'm ready to play! Our tournament will be played by doubles using a round robin format. You'll be able to play in about three matches. You don't need a partner to play as we'll pair you with someone of similar skill. If you don't have a paddle, one will be provided. Below are the key details of the tournament:

  1. Tournament Date: 6/17
  2. Tournament Time: Begins at 4:00 pm
  3. Tournament Cost: $55/player
  4. Tournament Number of Players: Max 80 - (tournament is coed, round robin and double-blind draw)
  5. Tournament Location: Sandy Springs Tennis Center
  6. Pickleball Skills Level: Beginner and above - (we'll match players to their skill level)
  7. Trophies for both Male and Females, will be presented for first, second, and third place.

There are two ways to register:

  1. Got to www.rotarypickleball.com
  2.  Use the QR Code attached below

Please share the QR code and/or website with your community, work colleagues, family and friends. If you know anyone that might want to become a sponsor of the tournament, please have them call President Scott Einfeldt 404.272.0294 and I can provide details.

We’re excited to host our 1st Annual Rotary Club of Sandy Springs Pickleball Madness Tournament!!!

A GLIMPSE AHEAD
