Thanks for Your Service
Dunwoody Joins DeKalb Rotary Council to Support FODAC

Thanks to Meredith Morris, Jennifer Shumway, Rick Otness, Rick Woods, Meghan Berry, Bob O'Brien, Alison Norris, Dave Burr, Ron Barden, and Lorri Christopher (not pictured), who represented our club last Saturday at the DeKalb Rotary Council's service project with FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children). We visited homes to retrieve used medical equipment donated to FODAC or refurbishing and distribution to adults and children with disabilities.  This was the DeKalb Rotary Council's 10th annual equipment collection event and in that time we've received more than $2 million in equipment donations! Ready, Set, Recruit
Order Your Rotary Business Cards Today ... It's On Us

Are you ready to promote your club and help us attract new members, new sponsors, new speakers, and new friends? As part of the club's fall membership drive, we want to provide every member with personalized business cards that show your involvement with the club, display Rotary's logo, and point prospects to online sources for more information. Members can share these cards whenever they dine at local restaurants, conduct business in the area, and interact with local community organizations, display the cards in their business, and hand out the cards when making their elevator speech to prospective members (we'll talk more about the elevator speech at an upcoming meeting).

The club will provide these business cards free of charge to every member who promises to use them. Members will also have the opportunity to purchase 2-sided business cards which display their regular business on one side and the Rotary card on the other. Please reach out to Dave Burr (davidthomasburr@gmail.com) to request your business cards. Don't wait - our order needs to be finalized by August 31.

Fellowship Opportunity
Join Us for an Evening at the Theater: Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

There's still time to book tickets and join your Family of Rotary for an evening of great music and fellowship as we see Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the  Aurora Theatre on Thursday, September 7 at 8 pm. The Aurora is located at the Lawrenceville Art Center.

We are planning supper before the show at Dominick’s Restaurant in Lawrenceville.

A group of 10 has already purchased tickets. If you'd like to buy tickets, go to https://www.auroratheatre.com/productions-and-programs/view/beautiful-the-carole-king-musical/ ... tickets range from $11 to $64.

Contact Louise Barden if you plan to join us for the theater, dinner or both.

Save the Date to Serve
Dunwoody Needs Bakers and Volunteers for USO - September 21

You can enlist today for our upcoming day at the USO in September. We need:

  • 8 volunteers to help welcome and serve lunch to any active troops and veterans passing through Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on September 21, and
  • All and any bakers who would like to contribute home cooked cookies and brownies to go with that lunch.

Cookies should be delivered to the E. 48th Street Market on 09/18 & 19th, 2023. All home baked cookies will be bagged on volunteer day and each bag will have a label that reads  "Dear Soldier, Thank you for your service. Enjoy this small token of appreciation made especially for you with love and prayers." Rotary Club of Dunwoody

Please contact Charlie Augello (italian@e48thstreetmarket.com) to volunteer or bake cookies.

We look forward to another very rewarding day that Rotarians demonstrate “Service above Self"
