Fellow Rotarians- I hope that everyone enjoyed the State of City last week as well as our well attended lunch. I hate that I missed it!
Please stay focused on supporting our many upcoming service projects. If you would like to help out on our Veterans initiatives (adopt a platoon, Basketball fundraiser, and Honor Bus) please let Alicia, Gene, Roger or me know! We have opportunities galore and we need veterans to join our Honor Bus. Despite the beautiful warm weather, we are working hard on our Christmas Market Fundraiser and please remember that Youth Day is rapidly approaching!

The Story of Coach Jeremy Williams
Andy Robinson to Speak
Andy Robinson is joining us to speak about the book TENACIOUS, the story of legendary Georgia High School Football Coach Jeremy Williams, who courageously battled ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), while coaching and mentoring in the small town of Greenville GA. Andy is a life-long resident of Columbus GA. He retired from AFLAC as a Manager after a 27 year corporate career. He has been a member of St. Luke Church his entire life. Andy enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community in many ways. He previously served as a Board Member of The Valley Rescue Mission. Andy played on a Georgia High School State Championship Golf team, and later competed at the collegiate level. He is a Certified U.S.KIDS Golf Coach. He devotes his spare time to promoting the game of golf, teaching children, and beginners the basics of the sport. After Hours Meets TONIGHT!Most people don’t know what a doctor’s visit or an urgent visit cost. Some don’t know the cost of medications in spite of the popularity of GoodRx.com. And worse, is a hospital stay $5,000, $50,000 or $500,000?
Health insurance has gotten more complicated every year in spite of efforts by the Affordable Care Act (aka ‘the Marketplace’ or Obamacare). So how do you stay your healthiest, recalling that the phrase “without your health, you have nothing” was said by Mary J Blige, Bernie Mac, NFL Coach Chuck Pagano and even in Princess Bride (https://youtu.be/fUKO_Y6RqEk)? The October 3rd Roswell Rotary After Hours meeting will be a conversation with Rotarian Hal Schlenger, a health insurance / employee benefits broker, and Dr. Brian Sanders, a primary care physician with About You Family Medicine on Alpharetta St across from Lucky’s. They will share how to prevent little things from becoming big things, what’s the role of an advocate, and should you ever pay the first bill. See you at The Artillery Room!

Youth Day Parade!
Join us for the 73rd Youth Day Celebration! This year's celebration will include the Frances McGahee Parade, Art Block, Fall Farm Days, Touch-A-Truck, and Food Truck Alley. Free and open to the public. Oct 14, 2023 at 10:00 am - 02:00 pm (Sat). Rotarians! Please bring non-chocolate bags of candy to our regular meetings for distribution at the Parade. Sunday Oct. 15th
Farm Day at Gary Garrett's Farm
One of the most fun events of the year is coming up- Farm Day at the Garrett farm. A Sunday afternoon of fellowship, ATV's, great home cooking, some adult beverages, something for everyone, and a great way for newer members to get to know other members on a different and deeper level. Veteran's Event
Roswell Rotary will be honoring veterans from all branches
of service with a trip to Fort Moore and the Military Museum on November 10th. We will depart from the American Legion Post
201 in Alpharetta at 6:30 am to arrive at Fort Moore by 9:30. We will attend
Ranger Graduation and Demonstration at 10:00, followed by a VIP tour and lunch
at the Military Museum. We will depart
Columbus at 1500 to head back to the American Legion for dinner at 1800. All Veterans and dignitaries will be the
guest of RRC and all other guests will be assessed a $30 per person fee. RRC has reserved three buses, so seating is

Have you been missing your Rotoscope? We have several members who used to receive the newsletter weekly and are no longer getting it in their email box. what's going on? It could be it's going to spam, could be an error with your email address, could be security software on the receiving end, OR IT COULD BE a MYSTERY! We have the experts working on solving the mystery for our Roswell Rotarians who are not getting their newsletter. in the meantime, do this: 1. Report it to Tori Neilson at admin@roswellrotary.com 2. Check Roswell Rotary's Facebook page on Tuesdays. The Rotoscope link is posted there weekly. 3. Grab a paper copy at the Thursday meeting. 4.
