President Alex's MessageFellow Rotarians: This week we unfortunately lost our friend, our Past President, and fellow Rotarian Judge Maurice Hilliard. Please keep his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers and stay tuned for memorial service information. Prior to his passing, we had begun evaluating an appropriate Club recognition for Maurice’s legacy and commitment to our community and Club. We will be presenting our proposal shortly.
This week we will be having a substantial number of visiting youth to our club. Please arrive on time to ensure that we can have everyone fed before the bell rings at 12:15.
Additionally, please remember our October 24 Corn Hall Tournament to raise funds for Polio at Lucky’s as well as our need to focus on our Adopt a Platoon (we are behind what we need to give) as well as to sign up veterans for our Honor Bus Trip to Ft. Benning/Moore on November 10th as well as to have volunteers for our Veterans Basketball Fundraiser.
Thank you for all you do,
Alex

Calling Rotarians to Volunteer!!
The holidays are fast approaching and Roswell Rotary is getting ready. As a partner in the Christkindlmarket coming to Roswell Nov. 24-Dec 24, Roswell Rotarians are needed to work the check out desk in the Bulloch Hall Gift Shoppe right next door to Bulloch Hall. Feel free to pass along to your spouse/partner/friend that you think might be interested. We ask that you sign up for a minimum of 2 shifts during the 1 month of the market. There will be a training session in November to learn how to use the Square system and check out a customer at the shop. It’s easy! It’s fun! It’s a great way to get involved. Partner up with a friend as 2 people are needed per shift. Click the link to sign up for your shifts. Remember this is a major project/fundraiser this year and we need you! The City of Roswell is putting up an 18ft tree by the house that needs decorating too!! We’ll have decorations. Bring yourself… and a ladder if you have one. This will be a really fun day to get in the spirit. Let Nancy Alterman know if you plan on helping. Nancyhalterman8@gmail.com WE NEED ITEMS!! Adopt A Platoon

RRAH Meeting RecapRoswell Rotary After Hours had a jam-packed meeting last week! First, the club welcomed Rotarian Steve Stroud, the Executive Director of Roswell Inc--a nonprofit that promotes economic development through a public-private partnership with the City of Roswell. The club loved learning the unique and meaningful ways Roswell Inc. supports the local business community. Thank you, Steve! Next, RRAH officially welcomed two new members to the Rotary Family! Welcome, Will McFarlin and Taylor Schmidt!! And lastly, members brought in food items as part of a Thanksgiving food drive benefiting North Fulton Community Charities. RRAH members never hesitate to donate goodies to worthy causes, especially during the holidays. The next Roswell Rotary After Hours meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 7th at 6:30 at The Artillery Room @ Gate City! There will be no scheduled speaker this week. Instead, members will partake in fellowship while organizing care packages for active duty military in honor of Veterans Day.
