Join us at the AC Hotel this Friday to hear inspiring words from this year's Laws of Life essay contest winners. Our own George Stewart has been a driving force in the Georgia Laws of Life program and will start us off with some words about the program. Then be ready for inspiration from some North Springs High School winners.
Our club has been a long-time and enthusiastic Laws of Life sponsor, where high school students have an opportunity each year to write about a life event or person who has helped to shape them as individuals - each with a quote or phrase they select as their theme. We have provided prize money, served on the Board and judged essays since the program's start in Georgia. At District conference in March, we were excited to hear from last year's winner of the George Stewart award.
“AS ALWAYS, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!” Those words of appreciation come from festival organizers Cindy Flynn, Frances Schube and Tanya Moore, the Splash Festivals team, when referring to Rotary volunteers who help with logistics for the Dunwoody Art Festival. Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the 14th annual Dunwoody Art Festival in Dunwoody Village. Rotary’s presence and support is appreciated and recognized by festival organizers, artists and visitors. Thanks for making it happen.
If by some chance you have not signed up, check in with Matthew Johnson about spending some time in the RCD booth at the festival.
And whether you're volunteering or not, take a stroll through the Festival on Saturday or Sunday, and stop by the booth to say hello.
With less than one week to go, we only have a couple of asks in this last bulletin before Monday's tournament! #1: Please pray for good weather!!!
Aside from that:
And again, think sunshine - no rain Monday!
The Rotary Club of Dunwoody has just turned 40 years old - and we are planning to celebrate at our end of year gala on June 20. More details will follow soon but we wanted to ask your help now to identify Dunwoody Rotary alumni and extend an invitation for them to attend this special event. Please forward names and email addresses for any Dunwoody alumni to Matthew Johnson now. Watch for more in the weeks to come.
