Dan Salter, HIDTA Director, to Speak

Daniel Salter has served for 37 years in federal law enforcement, combating the drug epidemic in our country and around the world. From 1987 until his retirement in 2018, he served as a Special Agent in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in field agent, supervisory, and executive leadership roles across the United States and South America. A second-generation public servant, he followed in his father’s footsteps as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of both the Dallas Field Division, and the Atlanta Field Division.

Following his retirement from federal service in 2018, Dan was selected to serve as the Executive Director of the Atlanta-Carolinas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (AC – HIDTA), a program under the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) that coordinates interagency task force operations between over 150 federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies across the states of Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In this role, Director Salter leads the AC – HIDTA executive board comprised of county sheriffs, chiefs of police, and agency directors in the collaborative efforts to disrupt and dismantle Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) and Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs). Salter, a Roswell High School graduate, has been married to his college sweetheart Elizabeth for 40 years, and has three grown children. Director Salter resides in Kennesaw, Georgia, and attends NorthStar Church in Acworth.

May is Mental Health Month

CURRENTLY, ONE ROSWELL FOCUSES ON:

  • Underage Drinking
  • Nicotine – Vaping Nicotine; Other Tobacco Products
  • Misuse of Prescription Drugs
  • Other Illicit Drugs: Marijuana, Opioids, Methamphetamines
  • Mental Wellness

One Roswell will be the voice of prevention, while working to change the culture and context within which decisions about substance use are made by providing information, building skills, providing support, enhancing access, reducing barriers, changing physical design and changing policy.

That's a big job EVERY month - not just May.  Your help is requested. Please Join the #NoShame Movement here: https://onenorthfulton.org/one-roswell/

Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help!

Meals on Wheels America is the leadership organization supporting the more than 5,000 community-based programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Powered by a trusted volunteer workforce, this network delivers a comprehensive solution that begins with a meal and is proven to enable independence and well-being through the additional benefits of tailored nutrition, social connection, safety and much more.

Roswell Rotary supports Meals on Wheels out of North Fulton Senior Services by signing up to deliver meals 1 or 2 days a week. A typical route commitment lasts only 1.5 hours. The routes take place right before lunchtime, with most meals being picked up at the center between 10:00 and 11:00 am each day. If interested in delivering meals to your senior neighbors, please contact Mary Trapp marytrapp@kw.com or 770-645-1320.
